We are often encouraged to 'Embrace the future!' and thinking positive is probably a rather overused and hackneyed phrase. After all, when Fate deals you a diagnosis of breast cancer, it has to be the hardest thing in the world to be anything other than horrified.
Change and positive thinking in the face of breast cancer can turn things round. Em'BRA'ce is about just that.
Polly Wilkins founded 'Em'BRA'ce' after her own experience of chemotherapy, mastectomy and a course of radiotherapy. Not opting for reconstructive surgery, she couldn't find a bra that left her feeling feminine. Wanting comfort and shaping that meant clothes fitted again, it wasn't an easy task. The frustration of gaps, insecure prosthesis and frankly less than alluring designs niggled away until it became a mission-to fill that West Cornwall gap.
Women at support groups complained about the same problem. Everyone needs that confidence boost that is pretty, sexy and comfortable.
So, with determination and vision, 'Em'BRA'ce' was born-and it continues.
Sheila is taking the service forward and sources out pretty designs in a range of colours that have double pockets already fitted to take single or double mastectomy prostheses, there's now a collection of bras to suit all sorts of needs in sizes 32A - 46DD. There's also a swimwear range available.
It is a personal service, with a sympathetic ear so you get exactly what is right for you.
Change is sometimes hard, sometimes for the better. EmBRAce it. You can!
